Frequently Asked Questions

Is the In-home Consultation really necessary?

Yes, it is! The initial in-home consult lets me see how you currently use your space and learn about your organizing goals. It’s the basis for creating an action plan that is customized for you. It also gives us a chance to get to know each other. The in-home consultation is an essential first step for all new clients.

How long does it take to get organized?

That depends on the size of the space, the scope of the project, the amount of decluttering, and how quickly you are able to make decisions. Keep in mind that the fewer interruptions we have (phone calls, texts, children, etc.) the more progress we will make.

Also, some people enjoy doing some “homework” in between appointments, while others are only able to focus on the project during our scheduled organizing sessions. We will work at a pace that is comfortable for you with respect for your schedule.

What if I don’t want to get rid of all my stuff?

I will offer guidance and recommendations to expedite the organizing process, but the final decision to keep or discard items is always up to you. I promise to respect you, your home and your belongings.

My house is so messy and disorganized I’m afraid to let you see it.

Don’t worry, I’ve seen a lot of houses in varying degrees of “messiness” and I’m here to be helpful, not judgmental. All client information and interactions are kept strictly confidential.

Why do you take photos and measurements during the initial consultation?

Photos and measurements help me create a customized action plan for each client. Taking benchmark photos at the beginning shows how much progress is being made and keeps everyone motivated. I never publish photos without written consent from the client and I do not identify the owner of the space.

What’s the difference between a ‘project outline’ and a ‘customized action plan'?

A project outline is created during the initial in-home consultation. It’s much more basic and is ideal for people who prefer to take a Do-It-Yourself approach to home organizing.

Clients who book additional hands-on organizing sessions after the initial consultation will get a customized action plan, which is tailored to their space and their individual organizing goals. The customized action plan guides us as we work together to create order, ease, and simplicity in their homes.

How much is this going to cost?

There is a one-time cost of $100 for the initial in-home consultation, which includes a project outline and a starter session. Additional hands-on organizing is $50 per hour (3 hour minimum) and includes a customized action plan.  Package discounts are available – please see the Services and Pricing for details.

Do you accept credit cards?

I accept cash, checks, debit cards, Visa and MasterCard. Payment is due at the end of each session, except for package pricing which is paid up-front.

Are you insured?

Yes, my business is bonded and insured.
